Rec Room, a virtual social platform resembling Roblox that enables users to design interactive games and activities for the community, will cease operations on June 1st. Although it amassed over 150 million participants and developers and once held a valuation of $3.5 billion, the firm disclosed in an online statement that "we continuously struggled to transform Rec Room into a financially viable enterprise" and that "our expenditures consistently surpassed the income generated."
